ROME WAS BUILT IN A DAY
Whoever said "ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY" must be very correct but I'd like to think differently.
We all have goals, dreams and aspirations that we want to achieve in this life and for some others, even in the next!
You can build it all in a day...
Yes.... A Day!!! 24 hours
Pardon me if 24 hours is so much a time for you but that's how much time I give you to build your Rome, and your time starts NOW!!!!
TAKE YOUR MIND BACK TO WHEN YOU SAID YOU WERE GOING TO ACHIEVE THAT GREAT FEAT.
...I bet for most, they only said it... They didn't mean it.
Now here is my thought!
"THE DAY YOU SAID IT AND MEANT IT WAS THE DAY YOU BUILT IT".
...you see, the success we're all looking for is nowhere else but right within the confines of our imagination. No wonder the Holy scriptures said: "These treasures are in earthen vessels"
Can I shock you a little bit more???
"THE DAY YOU SAID IT AND MEANT IT WAS THE DAY YOU BUILT IT BUT THAT'S NOT THE DAY YOU'D SEE IT"
...now this brings me back to the statement that "Rome was not built in a day"
The lie a lot of us tell ourselves is that until we see it, it's not in existence and if it's not in existence why do I have to stress myself and keep believing. But you see, it not just enough to build in your mind. You have to learn to translate your vision into reality
Now, the BIG QUESTION.....
HOW????
I'd mention just a few:
1. START WORKING: You have thought and planned enough. It's time for implementation.
2. DON'T EXPECT ANYBODY TO CARRY YOU ALONG: Now, this is where a lot of people get it wrong. In the attainment of your goals and visions, don't expect anyone to carry along. It's only unserious people who dwell in this school of thought. You're responsible for yourself. Start working and people will join you to make it work.
3. BE CONSISTENT: So because you tried out that stuff 3 months or a year ago and nothing seems to be coming out of it doesn't mean you should quit. Consistency is KEY to attaining great feats in life. Temporary setbacks shouldn't set you back, remember, "Tough times don't last but tough people do".
4. SYNERGIZE: I can't stress this enough. I think I have spoken about this so much this year. An African proverb has it that "If you want to travel fast, travel alone, but if you want to travel far, travel with others. So what's it going to be? FAST or FAR??
5. BE WILLING TO LEARN AND IMPROVE ON YOUR SKILLS: Your skill and your use of it makes you entirely unique from the next man. So learn from authorities in your area of expertise and seek to improve your skills. Attend trainings, workshops, conferences. These will help you sharpen your skills and network with others who are better than you.
6. SEEK MENTORSHIP: No matter the field you're in, there is a mentor for you. At this point, I'd love to state that there is a thin line between a mentor and a role model. In the simplest of terms, your role model is the person you want to be like, so you're modelling your lifestyle and choices after the person but a mentor helps you attain that height. It's not enough to want to be like Less Brown for instance, but you need a public speaking pro within your reach to hold you by the hand to attain that "Less Brown" status or even better. Now, you need to understand also that sometimes, your role model could also be your mentor, but I guess you understand the concept now!
7. BE PREPARED AT ALL TIMES: Whether opportunities come knocking or you go out there to hunt for them, you need to be prepared. Preparedness gives you confidence and makes you several steps ahead of your contemporaries.
...your ROME can be BUILT IN A DAY but you need time to SHOW US THE ROME!
Discipline yourself and you'd SHOW US YOUR
ROME soon enough. We can't wait.
ROME soon enough. We can't wait.
